More bok choi arrived today. I now have eight adorable little heads of it, threatening to take over. Here they are marching across the table (who says you can’t play with your food? (no, I am not drunk.)). I’m going to attempt to make other people eat it this weekend.
Okay. So it was spinach (not more arugula). And it was tasty. But I didn’t make pesto. I did learn that you can “roast” nuts in the microwave, though. I also made the Crusty Russet Potatoes with Coriander. Twice. Fabulous. I also learned that when you boil potatoes, the skin comes right off. Why the heck have you people been letting me peel raw potatoes before boiling them? Why? *grumble*
The haul was great this week. In the box was: Broccoli, Cucumbers, Dill, Garlic, Kale, Lettuce, Mei qing choi, Potatoes, Purslane, Summer squash, Strawberries, and Apricots. Note the cats making their inspection.
I ate almost all of the apricots, and so many strawberries that I had to take a benedryl. We’re making crudette with cucumber tzatziki that Rob “made up” to take to a Fourth of July party tomorrow. I have not yet made zucchini bread with the squash. Maybe we’ll just grill it. The Purslane was novel. It’s a succulent that tastes… green. We ate it in salad tonight.
