misty morning

May 20, 2010

On Tuesdays I usually have a jumping lesson on Whisper. I say usually because I have been known to be late on a few too many occasions, but there really isn’t a better time to ride than on a weekday morning. After our jumping lesson (where I didn’t fall off this time, thank you Whisper!) I took Whisper for a little trail ride up in the Fremont Older Open Space Preserve that is adjacent to our barn. There were lots of lovely wildflowers and we saw bunnies, a bird of prey of some sort, and a coyote! I sort-of got a picture of the bird, but the coyote didn’t sit around long enough for me to get my phone out of my pocket. Here’s a little photo journal of our ride. It’s actually misting all around us and we’re both damp. I wish I had been able to get a video of the misty rain steaming up off of the ground. It was eerie and beautiful.

We’re actually on the road, this was the best shot I could get of Whisper from his back. That’s Whisper saying “we can go home now!”
