Flagging

July 29, 2010

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines flagging as becoming progressively less: dwindling. I think that describes my blogging progress as of late. I do have two posts mostly-done, but I think I’m waiting for them to blossom into fine literature on their own.

We’ve had a guest, I had a migraine, excuses excuses. I did manage to go for a run Tuesday and for the first time, I ran up one of the hills without realizing what I was doing until I hit the top. It was a pretty great feeling. Otherwise the run wasn’t much of a run: my ankles/hamstrings would not loosen up, and then whatever it is that runs from your hip to your knee (ACL?) started chiming in, so I wound up walking too much. I could barely walk when I got home.

Today I went climbing with Rob, and it was the first time in a long time that I didn’t feel like I hurt something while climbing. I did skin my knee, but my neck and shoulders feel fine. I believe the running and biking are really making me feel better.

Now if I could cut back on the eating, I might actually lose some weight. I’ve been reading the Hacker’s Diet (scroll down for PDF), and come to the realization that my desire to eat good food just might be getting the way of my desire to weigh less.
