finals, part one

December 10, 2010

On Thursday I had a bunch of stuff due for school.

In Intermediate Sewing we had to turn our binders in with all of our sewing samples and notes and handouts neatly arranged. I got an A- because I turned some stuff in late, and didn’t do one of the samples. Terrible, I know. I only have to finish my simple jacket (at the last minute I decided to go simple and do Kwik Sew 3693 View B because the instructor really seemed to think we should do it
(well, she was suggesting view A, but still), it looked easy, and it’s a hoodie. I plan to finish it Monday.

I spent my three-hour break working on my analysis for my Principles of Fashion final project. Which I actually fished on-time. One of my classmates had forgotten that the final project was due a week before the final (the assignment was due 12/9 at the end of our three-hour class), so another classmate and I helped her finish it. It was actually a lot of fun! My project, which was to design look board for a line of clothing, was made with fabric swatches entirely from my fabric stash, which I found quite satisfying.

I don’t know why I was surprised that the Fashion Drawing final was next. I’m pretty sure I aced it, even though I only had about 20 minutes to study. We had to draw a fashion figure as part of our final, and I think the one I drew was one of my best drawings so far. I was going to take a picture of it, but I figured I’d get in trouble for using my smart phone during a final.

So, all that’s left is to finish the jacket, study for the Principles final, and to do a watercolor drawing. Yay!
